However, this number may fluctuate depending on the inclusion of new taxa discovered in local and national scientific publications. To expedite this process, beginning in December 2022, IPNI editors have enabled the ‘new registration system for vascular plant names’. Through the efforts of researchers, numerous plant species have been documented and added to the IPNI database.
